The Marcel woven rattan armchair, shown here in its low-back version, is a true symbol of French rattan. Very popular in the countryside in the early XXᵉ century, it was then sold by peddlers from village to village. Lightweight, sturdy and affordable, this armchair was often the only element of comfort in modest households: for knitting, listening to the TSF, smoking, reading by the fire or chatting in the shade of an apple tree.
